EVE Energy Malaysia Base Advances Global Manufacturing and Energy Storage Development
Recently, the Phase II facility of EVE Energy’s Malaysia base successfully held its ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking another important milestone in EVE Energy’s global manufacturing expansion.
Dr. Liu Jianhua, Co-founder and President of EVE Energy, attended and hosted the ceremony. Professor Haim Hilman, Kedah State Executive Council Member for Industry and Investment, and Ms. Zuaida, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), were also invited to attend the event and witness this significant moment together with representatives from relevant government departments and industry partners.
The completion of the Phase II facility marks the Malaysia base’s transition from large-scale construction to a new stage focused on production ramp-up, operational development, and localized collaboration.

Advancing a Dual-Track Battery Manufacturing Layout
As an important strategic hub in EVE Energy’s global manufacturing network, the Malaysia base has established a dual-track industrial layout covering both cylindrical batteries and energy storage batteries.
The Phase I International Cylindrical Battery Industrial Park represents EVE Energy’s first major overseas investment in a large-scale lithium battery manufacturing facility. With a total investment of up to USD 422.3 million, the project primarily manufactures cylindrical batteries for power tools and electric two-wheelers.
Construction officially began in August 2023, followed by equipment installation in December 2024. Within only two months, production line commissioning was completed, and the first battery successfully rolled off the production line in February 2025.
Currently, the project, also known as EVE Energy’s 53rd factory, has established an annual production capacity of 680 million cylindrical battery cells, providing strong manufacturing support for global customers.

Expanding Energy Storage Manufacturing Capabilities
Building on the successful development of the cylindrical battery project, EVE Energy continues to strengthen its energy storage battery manufacturing presence in Malaysia.
In January 2024, EVE Energy Malaysia signed a memorandum of understanding with INVEST KEDAH BHD. to establish an energy storage company, acquire additional land, and accelerate the development of an energy storage manufacturing facility in Malaysia.
The energy storage project has a planned total investment of up to RMB 8.654 billion, with a total planned annual production capacity of 48 GWh, including 10 GWh for Phase II and 38 GWh for Phase III.
The completion of the Phase II facility provides a stronger foundation for future production expansion, operational efficiency improvement, and further integration with the local industrial ecosystem.

From Local Manufacturing to Global Service
The continued development of the Malaysia base will significantly enhance EVE Energy’s overseas manufacturing and delivery capabilities.
Through localized production in Malaysia, EVE Energy will be better positioned to provide global customers with more timely, reliable, and high-quality battery products and services, while responding more efficiently to growing market demand.
The Malaysia base will further strengthen EVE Energy’s global supply chain network and support customers across Southeast Asia, Europe, North America, and other international markets.

Supporting Malaysia’s Energy Transition
Beyond battery manufacturing, EVE Energy is also actively expanding its participation in Malaysia’s renewable energy development and energy storage applications.
Recently, EVE Energy signed a cooperation agreement with GSPARX Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia’s national electricity utility company, to jointly develop a large-scale photovoltaic and energy storage integrated project in Malaysia.
With a total planned capacity of 40 MWp, the project will be implemented in two phases. The first phase, with a capacity of 25 MWp, is planned for grid connection in October 2026, followed by the second phase of 15 MWp.
The project will provide reliable and cost-effective green energy solutions for local industrial parks, manufacturing facilities, and other commercial applications, demonstrating the role of advanced energy storage technologies in supporting Malaysia’s energy transition.
In addition, EVE Energy and its partners have signed a photovoltaic and energy storage project for Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Utilizing EVE Energy’s 628Ah battery cells and energy storage solutions, the project represents another step forward in applying EVE Energy’s technologies in Malaysia’s critical infrastructure sector.
